This photo of a tree holds a special place in my heart as it was the first one I ever worked with. I had been living in a 16th-century-style, four-floor stone tower for a couple of years and had grown tired of capturing the same trees in my photographs and started to paint them with oils as an experiment and haven't stopped since.
